Simeone Spirit of Competition Honoring David Hobbs

November 18, 6 PM

F1This annual fundraiser is always a special night at the Simeone Foundation Museum. This year Dr. Simeone will host David Hobbs as the evening's honoree.

Located in Philadelphia, PA, the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum is one of the world’s greatest collections of racing sports cars. Through the theme, “The Spirit of Competition”, the museum is celebrating the history and evolution of these magnificent machines. Assembled over 50 years by Dr. Frederick Simeone, the Museum contains over 65 historically significant cars including Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Bugatti, Mercedes, Jaguar, Bentley, Porsche, Aston Martin, Corvette, Ford and more.

David raced in many of the greatest sports cars ever built, including the Jaguar E-Type, Lotus Elite, Lola T70, Ferrari 250 LM, Ford GT40, Porsche 917K, Ferrari 512M, McLaren M8D, McLaren M20, Ferrari 365 Daytona, BMW 3.0 CSL, BMW 320 Turbo, BMW M1, Porsche 935, Porsche 956, Porsche 962 and Nissan GTP-ZX.

In 1976, while still actively racing, David embarked on a career in broadcasting, providing color commentary for such networks as CBS, ESPN, Fox Sports, Speed TV and NBC, where he is an analyst and color commentator for F1 coverage.

The event begins at 6:00 pm and will consist of a dinner with open bar, an award presentation by Dr. Frederick Simeone, plus music by the Gin Canaries.

AACA National Meet at Hershey

The Eastern Division AACA National Fall Meet takes place each year during the 1st full week in October. The Hershey Region began hosting the show in 1955 and has done so each year since then. The meet is located in beautiful Hershey, PA on the grounds and parking lots surrounding Hersheypark and The Giant Center. Hershey is considered one of the largest antique automobile shows and flea markets in the United States.

From the dawn of motoring to the new antiques (yes that's 1990), Hershey has it all! The parade of 1600 cars coming into the show is an event in itself. Someone spotted Al and Robin on their way to getting a Senior National Award!

America's British Reliability Run 2015

“Anatomy of a Success” By Bob De Lucia & Dave Hutchison

Photos by Charlie Frick, Motorcar Studios and ABRR photographers.

On a quiet cul-de-sac in the sleepy hollow of Quakertown, a “British Invasion” was about to disturb the bucolic neighborhood. Thirty-two “Teams” were descending on the area on a beautiful, sunny, and brisk October Friday morning. This was the start of the 2015 America’s British Reliability Run.

McLaren Owners Tour Jackson Hole, Wyoming

A friend of ours recently attended the McLaren F1 Owners Club Tour in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The "F1 Meets P1" had 20 cars registered, nine of which were F1s! They covered about 1000 miles in 4 days, had 5 star accommodations and restaurants. The tour ran "at speed" through the open roads of Wyoming which included Yellowstone Park. The P1 he was riding in handled the sweepers with ease at 90 MPH and topped 160+ MPH and yes, still managed to get 24 MPG! The ultimate in British cars!  All this from the country that brought us the Bond Bug and Reliant Robin... Not too shabby!
